Define and champion the publication’s stance on a particular issue or subject matter.
Valiantly represent and defend one’s worldviews (in column articles). The desk has no space for timidity.
Thoroughly research and countercheck information to supplant arguments with facts, evidence, and context.
Engage with public discourse and connect with the communities at the core of reportage.
Pitch much-needed angles to provide spaces for marginalized points of discussion.
Uphold integrity in writing at all times. Ethical diligence is a must.
Commit to the aforementioned responsibilities and be consistent in a competitive and active space of journalism.
