Photos Desk

The Photos Desk serves as the visual arm of Explained PH, tasked with documenting events, issues, and everyday life within and beyond the campus. It produces images that can inform, contextualize, and amplify the voices of the community. Guided by the principles of journalism, and photography, the desk ensures that every published photo upholds journalistic standards while contributing to meaningful storytelling.

Cover campus and community events, issue, and assignments as directed.
Produce clear, relevant, and story-driven photographs.
Edit images responsibly without altering the truth or context.
Can organize their outputs that can be used for future projects.
Write accurate, concise, and informative captions that provide context.
Uphold ethical standards in photojournalism, including consent and sensitivity.
Coordinate with other staffers, volunteers, and desk editor for cohesive output.
Attend and actively engage in monthly desk meetings, contributing ideas and feedback.
Meet strict deadlines.
